![]() -------A brazilian musician of outstanding facility and musical insight, Eduardo plays with an enthusiasm and energy that captures audience’s imagination and draws them into a world of spontaneity, creation and wonder.
-------Second prize winner in Sholin Guitar Competition (2007) -------Eduardo has played solo recitals in Tucson, Brasilia, Campos do Jordão, São Paulo, Guaratinguetá. In demand also as an ensemble player, Eduardo was a member of the Trio Opus 12, (along with leading Brazilian guitarists Paulo Porto Alegre; ex Brazillian Guitar Quartet member) and Daniel Murray - the trio also played as a quartet with Edelton Gloeden (also ex-BGQ member). As a member of the Quartz Guitar Quartet, Eduardo won first prize in the University of São Paulo "Rising Project" Competition in 2003. He has performed with Quartz in Campos do Jordão, Curitiba, Santos, São Carlos, Osasco, Bauru and São Paulo. -------He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in guitar performance, at Brazil's leading university - The University of São Paulo, under Dr. Edelton Gloeden. During his studies, Eduardo, Gabriel Navia, Ítalo Aoki and Thiago Abdalla made Brazil’s premiere of the 24 Preludes and Fugues by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. He also received several awards; winning the nationally recognized Souza Lima Music Conservatory Guitar Competition, for which he was awarded a cultural visit to the U.S., under the sponsorship of the São Paulo United States Consulate General. This trip resulted in a successful audition at the University of Arizona and a full scholarship to pursue a Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance. He is also a Teaching Assistant (GTA) under Prof. Thomas Patterson supervision. .......Here in the U.S., Eduardo won 3 important guitar competitions. As a result he was already invited to play in Portland, Houston, Boston and St. Joseph. This semester Eduardo won the very competitive “Northern Trust/Piper Enrichment Award” "An award in memory of Virginia Piper may be granted annually to a graduate student in the performing arts to enhance the student's inspiration, cultural enrichment and research." This $5.000,00 award will enable Eduardo to Participate in The Koblenz Guitar Festival & Academy & Competition May 5 to May 12 as well as to study with several esteemed teachers in Europe. |
